The 2010 Shamrocks return five full-time starters from the 2009 team that won a share of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and the Jasper Semi-State enroute to a 4A State Runner-Up finish. Offensively, the Shamrocks return five starters from a team that hit .361 and averaged 8.2 runs per game in '09. They will also look to continue the tradition of a stingy defensive effort (.952% in 2009)the Shamrocks are accustomed to producing. The infield returns three starters, two of which are seniors, and the outfield returns one starter who is a senior. The Rocks pitching staff, which boasted a 2.38 ERA and averaged over a strike out an inning in 2009, is talented but inexperienced, returning only 48.67 innings on the mound. Expectations are high for this year's club to continue the success and tradition of the Westfield baseball program. For the Rocks to reach the expectations of an HCC championship and a state title, they will have to have outstanding leadership from the senior class and have everyone pulling on the same end of the rope. If this occurs, the Rocks will see continued success in 2010.
